Last week Congress passed and the president signed into law
the Budget Control Act of 2011.

That very day, U.S. debt shot up $239 billion - the largest
one-day bump in history.

      What you may not have known is that this so-called
      debt reduction bill included only $21 billion in
      spending cuts in the first year, as opposed to $1
      trillion in an immediate debt ceiling increase over
      the next year.

      The spending cuts are really cuts in the future
      increases in federal spending that the government
      pre-plans through what is called "baseline budgeting."

      You could say the whole thing is a scam. 


On Friday, as projected by some and feared by many, Standards
and Poor's reacted to these series of events by downgrading
the US credit rating, which politicians swore would not happen! 

++The "Tea Party Downgrade"

The political blame game began immediately with Democrats
calling the S&P decision, the "Tea Party downgrade!" 

      This is total fallacy! This could not possibly be the
      "Tea Party downgrade" when dozens of first term
      Republican members of Congress made it possible for
      the bill's passage by voting "yes."

These congressmen were elected during a powerful
move, a grass-roots move, based on the ideals of liberty
and limited government. Many, if not most of them made pledges
to reign in government spending and stop runaway deficits.

But when push came to shove, under the lies of total financial
catastrophe if the debt ceiling was not lifted by August 2,
these first-term GOP members of Congress voted to pass the
debt-ceiling sham.

++ We must hold them accountable!

Last week, we sent out a message which called these members
of Congress turncoats. Are they turncoats? Time will tell.
But one thing is certain: if we the people do not hold
them accountable for their involvement, then we have no
right to say anything if they truly become turncoats.
