FACTS ABOUT DONALD TRUMP

 

Dear All:

For those of you who, like me, have been warming up to the Donald, I think you need to sit down, compose yourself, perhaps get a bit to eat or a drink (not alcohol) as you do, and closely read what's to follow.

As some of you know, I've been warming up to Trump in recent weeks in large part due to his relentless effort to get the truth out on Obama's ineligibility.  Having read many of your e-mails, I know a good many of you feel exactly the same way.  We finally see someone who is courageously doing what no other individual with power or money (or both) dare do - spill the beans on Obama.  In fact, it's getting so much attention, the Chicago ABC TV affiliate (broadcast here in our Indiana home) just minutes ago on the 4 PM news aired an interview it did with Maya Soetoro (Barry's alleged half sister) to hopefully (in their mindset) quell the angst and welling anger out there.  This is the first time I recall ABC airing this on the air.  Thank God, I say.

However, at the risk of burst your bubble (for those of you backing him - like me), I must do so in order so the truth can come out now instead of later.

I was reading a post at Israpundit on Obama and his racist ties within the last hour.  I scrolled down to read a few comments on it and one of those comments provided a link to Open Secrets and suggested we research Trump's donations.  I braced myself in doing so.  Unfortunately, the news isn't good for those of us cheering on the Donald.  The link is below. Click it.  You need to see it.  It will disappoint you for sure, that is if your heart was set upon him.  It disappointed me.  And unless the material there is in error, which it does not appear to be, I hate to say it but we cannot support Trump for president.

It is important to see all the donations Trump has given over the years, but especially the last 5 years and most recently the 2010 election.

1. Donating nearly $25K to the corrupt Charley Rangel with a $10K donation in 2006 is not something a candidate for president can sweep under the rug.  Most of us likely know about his censure last year from the House (a joke at that) for activity that would possibly land some of us in the poky if we did what he did.  Ethics violations were minuscule compared to his actual actions.
2. Sen. Lautenburg got $12K from the Donald that same year.  Lautenburg recently joined together with a bunch of folks from Planned Parenthood and it was reported that he said pro-lifers should have their 1st Amendment rights muted.  Uh, that's obviously a non-starter for the radical pro-abort leftist that he is.
3. More recently, the Donald put nearly $5K in the coffers last year for the reelection of Dirty Harry to the U.S. Senate.  If Trump ever got to be prez, how do you think he would handle Sen. Reid?  Any answer less than with kid gloves and I'd say you're drinking too much Kool-Aid.  
4. In addition to the donation to Dirty Harry, the pro-amnesty, pro-abort, pro-radical everything left Charlie Schumer got $4K from the Donald last year and the other NY senator got nearly $6K.
5. Donald also gave $10K to the New York Democrat Party as well.  

He also in the past gave to Ted Kennedy & John F. Kerry, not smart.

Now let me say that I do recognize Trump's current donations totaling over a quarter million to the GOP Governors' Assn., American Crossroads PAC and the GOP Senatorial Committee.  That tells me that Trump is very likely going to throw his hat in the ring.  It also tells me that these donations are to show the public that he is a worthy and credible candidate for president and that his support of them is supposed to back up his alleged conservative credentials.  While this may fool some folks, it does not me.  I see no history of real conservative support prior to this year.  Giving token sums to George W. Bush, the Newtralizer, Rudy Giuliani and Mark Foley is not a sign of stalwart conservatism and constitutionalism.  Giuliani and Foley are not conservatives by any stretch of the imagination, certainly not social conservatives.

Of course, I recognize Trump's donations to John McCain (prior to 2010 as noted - likely 2008) but that is unimpressive as most folks know McCain as John Kerry lite (a flip flopper), one who likes to "cross the aisle" but most importantly as Mr. Amnesty.  Does this give you an idea where Trump may stand on border security?

Of course also, it's a no-brainer to compare Obama to McCain so it's not a sign of great intelligence to reject Obama for McCain but at the same time it gives pause to whether we should get behind the Donald.

Trump has said he's pro-life and pro-gun but has said little in detail on those matters so that also would have to be vetted.  Same with same sex marriage - I wouldn't be surprised if only tacitly he backs homo causes.  He may not and there's no record I've seen of it.  But what the trail has produced isn't very good.

I'm not going to say who else should be a consideration for president (maybe Herman Cain) but for now we better look at the cold hard facts and as much as I'm reticent to say it, cashier the Trump card.  Had all these Democrat donations been prior to 2000 and GOP and conservative donations since, we could chalk this up to naivete and lack of political involvement.  But such is not the case.  Mitt Romney talks a good talk but was a disaster as governor with his support for same sex marriage and Massachusetts' version of Obamacare as governor.  Trump is similar here.  We cannot support him.
