Conservatives,
Our staff has just learned from our contacts on Capitol Hill
that the House will vote next week on a bill that would
prohibit public funding of abortion in all federal programs
and would ensure that no federal funds would be used for
elective abortions.
The bill -- The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,
H.R. 3 -- was introduced by Representatives Chris Smith
(R-New Jersey) and Dan Lipinski (D-Illinois). It would
also codify the Hyde and Helms amendments, which currently
must be renewed every year, and would further protect the
conscience clause for medical professionals and institutions
found in the Hyde-Weldon amendment.
In response to this vote, CWALAC is mounting a grassroots
effort to deliver up to 100,000 petitions and rally tens
of thousands of phone calls before the vote. We currently
have more than 70,000 petitions.
I would like to
deliver a petition on your behalf to key House
leaders before the vote next week. But I need
to hear from you in the next few days.
Please go here right now to sign the petition:

Again, one of the most important pro-life initiatives we
have seen in many years is expected to come up for a vote
early next week. If you believe it's time to get the
government out of the abortion business, please sign and
then alert your friends.

Chief Executive Officer
