It’s their fault if they get voted out
It would seem that everyone believes our country is on the road to disaster. Rather than solutions, we get politics. "It’s not my fault" is just a cop out. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is. We need solutions.
Here is my rule of thumb: If some politician says, "It is not my fault," I would vote him or her out of office as soon as possible. If they trot out some poor mother or old person and say change in the present system will cause them to starve to death, if they say that change will mean women will die for lack of medical care, if they say school children will not be educated, then you can know that that politician is blowing smoke and is lying through his teeth for political gain.
What we need now is real ideas that lead to solutions. We need to evaluate them all honestly for effectiveness and unexpected negative consequences, then choose the best solutions, regardless of party affiliation. Anything less is not worthy of our country and its ideals.
If you find as a politician that you will sacrifice your duty for party or the practical, then you should resign and allow a more honorable person to fulfill these obligations.
