Dear Conservatives,
One hundred years ago today, in a small Illinois town, Ronald Wilson Reagan was born.
From Illinois, he went to Hollywood to become an actor. From Hollywood, he went to Sacarmento to become governor of California. And from Sacramento, he went to Washington to become President of the United States of America.
Ronald Reagan led an exemplary life. He was a good man, a great President, a champion of freedom. And he was a good friend.
Watch our video tribute to Ronald Reagan.
It’s hard to believe that it has been more than six years since our nation bid farewell to Ronald Reagan. In many ways, it seems as though he never left. Perhaps this is because at The Heritage Foundation, we’re committed to keeping alive the timeless principles he believed in.
Reagan’s cause -- the cause of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense -- is our cause. And we work every day to defend it.
Watch the video honoring Reagan’s fight for principles and find out how you can help us continue the fight.
Reagan was a great example of a principled leader. He stood his ground and clung to principle when the Left attacked him for calling the U.S.S.R. an “evil empire.” He stood his ground when they attacked his tax proposals and his spending policies.
So too will The Heritage Foundation continue to stand firm for conservative ideas.
Watch the video and learn how you can stand firm with us.
Conservative ideas are winning ideas. And few individuals in the last century demonstrated this better than Ronald Reagan did. He recognized that America’s enduring principles cannot change and will not change because they are rooted in permanent truths.
The Heritage Foundation is privileged to call Ronald Reagan our friend and to carry out his legacy as we fight every day for conservative ideals. We are fighting to preserve that “shining city on a hill” we all love so dearly.
As always, thank you for all you do for our cause.
Sincerely,
Edwin J. Feulner, Ph.D.
President
The Heritage Foundation
