 Judge on Marriage: Isle Stand by You
There’s a lot more separating the U.S. and Puerto Rico than the Atlantic. Based on Tuesday’s news, the two regions are also oceans apart on judicial activism. Yesterday,
the little island made a big splash in the marriage debate by becoming
just the second federal court to uphold the local law. In an opinion
that was a breath of fresh air to disenfranchised voters everywhere,
Judge Juan Perez-Gimenez shocked everyone by following 40 years of legal
precedent.Unlike his peers, who could win awards for their judicial gymnastics, Perez-Gimenez practiced what is becoming a lost art in U.S. courtrooms: self-restraint. After a year and a half of watching courts elevate political correctness above the rule of law, Perez-Gimenez dared to inject a little common sense into his ruling, writing one of the most unflinchingly pro-Constitution opinions on the subject in the last decade. Calling natural marriage “the fundamental unit of the political order,” the judge argues that “Ultimately, the very survival of the political order depends on the procreative potential embodied in it.” |

I think it goes deeper than this analysis shows. There is a kind of
brainwashing that all university grads and professionals are subjected to and it
is often irreversible, resulting in a dangerous group think whereby this group
considers itself superior to others. In contradistinction to the thrust of this
article, Obama is a true believer in what I call Western liberalism. Most
lawmakers are other officials hold the same beliefs, whether D or R, and therein
lies the real problem.
Many tenets
of Western liberalism are not shared by We the people.
We
do not generally want gay marriage or open borders or to give support to
terrorist groups in the Middle East. But most people who have graduated from
college are no longer We the people. They are sympathetic to the group think of
the elites and aspire to belong to that group.
THAT
is the problem.

With or without Keystone XL, the Canadian oil sands will continue to be developed.
At the American Energy Alliance we have been saying this
for years, but the environmental left has refused to acknowledge basic
economics.
Global demand for crude oil is simply too high for it
not to be developed, regardless of whether or not it comes through the
U.S. by pipeline.
But by denying Keystone XL, we are missing out on
the opportunity to improve the American economy and strengthen our
country’s energy infrastructure.

the late 70's and mid-80's. The schools have been taken over by
Spanish-speaking illegal aliens and American children get picked on at
