Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell failed to garner the support needed to pass the motion to proceed on the watered-down version of the Obamacare repeal bill just after 1:30 a.m. Fridaymorning. Three Republicans — Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine — opted to join the 48 Democrats in voting against the measure. Welcome to this week's Parasha (Torah Study), which is called Devarim (Words). This portion of Scripture
will be read during the morning services this Shabbat (Saturday) in synagogues all around the world.
This Shabbat precedes Tisha B'Av, which begins Monday night. It is called Black Sabbath because it is considered the saddest Shabbat of the year. It is also called Shabbat Chazon (שבת חזון—Sabbath of Vision), which is taken from the special Haftarah (prophetic portion) that is read prior to Tisha B'Av, in which Isaiah laments the sin that will cause the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple.

Ed Note: The Brits are moving warships into the disputed islands of the South China Sea, and Congress just passed a new sanctions bill on Russia.....and now Russia is retaliating by seizing U.S. businesses in Russia. As of right now, nobody knows if Trump will Veto the Russian sanctions bill, but one would think that he will Veto (in retaliation) because of last nights "no vote" on the watered down health care initiative to repeal ObamaCare, but reality says.....the excuse to "let ObamaCare collapse" in-order for the Dems to "own it" and then the GOP becomes the savior at the last minute in hopes of securing votes for the midterm elections in 2018.....Trump might be in on the secret plan and will not Veto the Russian Sanction bill (a boost for the GOP). However.....if President Trump allows the Russian Sanctions to proceed, the turmoil from the European Union will spin out-of-control as Europe scrambles to find solutions for natural gas this winter.
