While Americans celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr., the rest of the world is a long way from his peaceful legacy. Terror swept across Africa and Asia over the weekend, as radical Muslims set fire to churches, smashed glass, destroyed villages, and brutally murdered innocent Christians in protest of France's Charlie Hebdo.
Pastor Zakaria Jadi, whose church was engulfed in flames, told the BBC, "I just rushed and told my colleagues to take away their families from the place… When I came back I just discovered that everything has gone. There's nothing in my house and also in the church."

GRUBER TAX UPDATE

The gross receipts tax – Gruber Tax* - proposed by Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval (R&R-Advertising) last week is, in reality, no different from the gross margins tax proposed by the teachers union last year which voters clobbered at the polls by 80 percent. Sandoval is calling it something else, but a turd by any other name stinks as bad.

And the arguments against the Gruber Tax are no different from the arguments Sandoval himself made just 10 months ago against the margins tax. Consider these excerpts from a Las Vegas Review-Journal story about a speech Sandoval made last March…

Today, America celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Almost everyone remembers Dr. King for his immortal 17-minute “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington, DC in 1963, especially this line…
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
But here’s something, as noted in Wikipedia, that most people probably don’t know about Dr. King…
