On Tuesday, August 19th, we went to Senator Thad Cochran's office here in Jackson, Mississippi to deliver letters from grassroots activists. As his constituents, we wanted to make it clear that we DO NOT support the re-authorization of the Export-Import Bank. The government wastes millions of dollars in crony capitalism and flying executives around the world. A seemingly simple statement from voters to their representative. But, to our surprise, Sen. Cochran's staff refused us access to our very own Senator's office to deliver these letters. Check out the photo gallery of our protest. See more here...

BJ3: First instrument ever heaved on me was the trumpet. If you think it’s easy to play, just try it. I hated it. Since a kid. I wanted to play the guitar. So, next, it was the accordion (of course, being Italian). Hated that too, though our orchestra played at Little Carnegie Hall (and even met some “stars” there). We made a recording too...ah how wonderful that was. About in the middle, you can clearly hear someone missing a note. I still remember the glare from the maestro.

In addressing the nation about James Foley, President Obama had a level of righteousness in his voice he does not often have. While I think it unseemly that he was literally within ten minutes of his speech on a golf course, I appreciate the righteousness in the tone of his statement. But his words bother me greatly.
