SANDOVAL STICKS SHIV IN CONSERVATIVE BACKS…AGAIN

I’m warning you all again: I don’t want to hear any bitching and kvetching if I end up not supporting Gov. Brian Sandoval’s re-election next year.  This guy has been worse for conservatives than any of us ever imagined when he was running in 2010…and this latest example really takes the cake.

Have you read about how the IRS has been targeting conservative and tea party organizations for the past couple of years?  Well, get this...

AB60, put forward by Democrat Secretary of State Ross Miller, would force small non-profit conservative organizations to not only file reports with the IRS, but withHIS OFFICE, as well.

Miller - a hyper-partisan who wants to be attorney general and eventually governor - has already been targeting conservative organizations as SoS - including lawsuits against Citizen Outreach and Americans for Prosperity over other campaign reports he wrongly claims we are required to file with his office.  

Can you imagine what he’ll do to us with even MORE power?

EXPERIMENT IN FUNDING BUREAUCRACY

Josephine County in southwestern Oregon is a tiny example of the fiscal crises cropping up across the United States. Like its larger counterparts, Josephine County is becoming fiscally insolvent. As everywhere, the question is how to fund big bureaucracies. Josephine County is trying desperately and they have created an alternative funding scheme that may well be headed toward a backyard near you, if not already there.

In the last general election (11-20-12), the voters in this essentially conservative county elected a career liberal bureaucrat to the office of County Commissioner. In a tightly contested race, Cherryl Walker won by 58 votes. She is somewhat unique and sees this as a huge victory.

Yesterday the Assembly Committee on Judiciary heard one of the most contentious bills this session, Senate Bill 221, which would institute background checks on all private party gun sales. There was standing room only in our hearing room, packed full of passionate Nevadans who wanted their voices heard. I do not support SB221 for many reasons; however, I'm proud to live in a nation that encourages public involvement and debate in our legislative process. This is what the legislative process is about. Your legislators spend four months every other year in Carson City working on legislation for you, and when we have this many people attending the hearing, it reminds me that every vote we cast will effect the people of Nevada. If you haven't yet shared your opinions with the Legislature, there are still a few days and several important bills left. I urge you to submit your opinions or email your legislator.
