Last month, police making a routine traffic stop in Escondido, CA, discovered that the 29-year-old passenger was Jesus Armando Flores-Trujillo – a convicted rapist who has been deported three times. Flores-Trujillo was first convicted of rape back in 2001 and was deported back to Mexicoafter finishing his sentence in 2010.
The Obama administration on Friday asked a federal appeals court to block Alabama’s strict new anti-illegal immigration law just days after a federal judge allowed key portions to take effect. The ruling is now on hold pending Obama’s appeal. The administration argued that the U.S. Constitution made immigration a federal matter that “cannot be subject to a patchwork of state measures.
