Yesterday Texas Forest Service responded to 19 new fires for 1,490 acres, including new large fires in Red River and Rusk counties. In the past seven days Texas Forest Service has responded to 172 fires for 135,051 acres.

--almost never intervene on behalf of Christians in trouble,

--routinely intervene on behalf of violence-prone Muslims

--never issue a warning to violent Muslims

American "Christians" who keep telling other Christians to just sit on their butts and wait for the Second Coming because it's all "supposed to happen" and "there's nothing we can do about it." Yet these same "Christians" wouldn't think of putting their own children in harm's way. As long as it's someone else and someone else's children far away, well, they can ignore the suffering.

It's all about lazy, ignorant people taking the easy way out. It's all about an ethnocentric notion that America is God's country and if people are abused in other countries it's because God's blessings are reserved for "Christian" America.

ACLU HAS GONE INSANE

ACLU Wants to Force School District to Allow Access to LGBT Websites Via School Computers

The American Civil Liberties Union is trying to force a school district in the Missouri Ozarks to remove blocking software from school computers that restricts student access to homosexual and transgendered Web sites, but the district says it can’t comply, because to do so could expose grade-school and high-school students to pornography--in direct violation of federal law.

The ACLU of Eastern Missouri filed suit on Aug. 15 against the Camdenton R-III school district in Camdenton, Mo., demanding that the K-12 district allow students access on school computers to LGBT (lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgendered) Web sites.

There is a disturbing report that the White House has overruled the Pentagon and is dramatically speeding up America's withdrawal from Iraq.

There are 45,000 American troops in Iraq. According to Fox News, "The generals on the ground had requested that the number of troops remaining in Iraq at the end of the year reach about 27,000." But there was "major push back" over the "political optics" of leaving a large force in Iraq. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reportedly insisted that at least 10,000 troops remain, but the Obama White House appears to have settled on just 3,000 troops.

Old Jarhead Blog Removed?

For the third Saturday in a row, when readers logged on to my blog at www.tartanmarine.blogspot.com, they got a "blog removed" message with no explanation. Each time I logged on to Blogspot and posted a query and the blog returned in a few hours. They say they have a system for auto removing Spam blogs, but mine has zero advertising, except my books, I kill Spam posts, and it has been up since 2008. I don't know if it is a blogspot glitch, like the way they sometimes change scheduled posts to drafts, or an attack. It is costing me readers--weekly page views dropped in that time from over 4k to about 3k. If you get that message, please try again later. I have filed an appeal—didn’t realize it was necessary, as it had come back. We shall see.

THE GREAT DEBATE: Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I gave MSNBC ratings. But in doing so I can say this is a two man race — Perry vs. Romney. It is also clear in this first debate that Perry is the front runner now. I would still prefer to have a few more debates on this before declaring it, but below I’ll explain why it is clear he is whether I want to think so or not.

The most shocking bit of the whole debate was at the very end. I felt a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of Republicans cried out in terror and suddenly realized they were watching MSNBC.
