Barack Obama’s favorite advocacy organization, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), is part political group, part crime syndicate and part urban terrorist organization, according to a stunning new book, “Subversion Inc.,” by award-winning investigative journalist Matthew Vadum.
Vadum, senior editor at Capital Research Center, a think tank that studies left-wing advocacy groups and their funders, has assembled the information from nearly three years of research and hundreds of interviews, in the project.
He documents how ACORN’s sinister motives, however, never stopped Obama from supporting the organization. Obama organized its voter drives, represented it in court, trained its activists, and mentored its leaders. In fact, ACORN was so important to Obama that during the 2008 presidential campaign he felt compelled to reassure ACORN officials that he was still a steadfast ally.

Bin Laden was but “a distraction,” writes Peter Beinart, and the war on terror “a mistake from the start.” 9/11 was nothing more than “an isolated case,” argues Ross Douthat. And “bin Laden was always the weak horse.”

Republicans are warning President Obama not to issue an executive order that would require government contractors to disclose their political donations.
Obama drafted the proposal last month, which is reminiscent of a provision in a Democratic bill called the Disclose Act that died in the Congress last year.
That bill would have required corporations and unions to identify themselves in political ads they pay for – a response to a 5-4 Supreme Court ruling that upheld the First Amendment rights of these groups to spend money on campaign ads.

WHEN IS THE END OF THIS WORLD?
Over the years I have been asked many times whether or not I thought the end of this world was near and the coming of our Lord was at hand? This question is usually asked with reference to some recent happening in the world, such as a war or rumor of wars, bad weather, famine, a new potential disease epidemic, some huge earthquake, volcano, hurricane, or a tsunami. These events are general, and have been with us for thousands of years. So my answer was always pretty much the same: "No, I do not believe that the end of the world is near, but certainly "…now our salvation is nearer than when we believed" (Rom.13:11). But that all changed on "September 11, 2001." This to me was not a "general" catastrophic happening as has been witnessed time and again, but this was a very specific catastrophe unlike anything before it.
Back in 2002 I gave a short lecture on 9-11. I now wish to make public to our readers the prophetic implications of this colossal disaster, as I believe is attested to in the Book of Isaiah.

The U.S. Civil Rights Commission is now planning to “hold its first-ever hearing to specifically address the civil rights of LGBT people.” Despite these “firsts,” the Obama administration has already advanced transgender interest groups through a series of executive fiats. If you don’t believe me, believe The Huffington Post. It remarked that a recent housing proposal “marks the latest in a string of Obama administration attempts to enhance gay rights through federal regulation.” Some of the administration’s actions literally redefine the government’s definition of the family, stifle any opposition to gender confusion, and encourage schoolchildren to think of transgender practices as normal and mainstream (or else).

McCarthy to Obama: Speech is Constitutionally Protected

Washington, D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is calling on President Barack Obama not to issue an Executive Order designed to limit the speech of organizations that oppose the Obama Administration’s policies. McCarthy is joined by 20 co-signers on the letter, including the Chairmen of 19 House Committees.

“Much like the DISLCOSE Act, which failed to garner enough support to pass during the 111^th Congress, this proposed EO seems like a blatant attempt to intimidate, and potentially silence, certain speakers who are engaged in their constitutionally protected right to free speech,” McCarthy said in a letter to the President.

Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 244,000 in April, and the unemployment rate edged up to 9.0 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains occurred in several service providing industries, manufacturing, and mining.

CAIRO — Al-Qaida on Friday confirmed the killing of Osama bin Laden and warned of retaliation, saying America's "happiness will turn to sadness."

The confirmation came in an Internet statement posted on militant websites, signed by "the general leadership" of al-Qaida.
The announcement opens the way for the group to name a successor to bin Laden.
His deputy Ayman al-Zawahri is now the most prominent figure in the group and is a very likely contender to take his place. The U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, thought to be hiding in Yemen, has also been mentioned as a possible successor.
