Too much Fed credit encouraged too much building, so prices ballooned past their economic values on the effluvium of degenerating derivatives.  Now, we have foreclosures, upside-down homeowners, devalued and disappeared  mortgage-makers, failed and failing banks, and a cesspool of phony investment values camouflaged by a carpet of Federal fun dollars now owed by the taxpayers.  How come?

Budget Deal Guarantees Senate Vote on Repeal of Obama Health Care Law

When the GOP-led House voted in January to repeal President Obama's health care law, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he wouldn't even take up the measure in his chamber and he scorned Republicans for wasting time on "symbolic votes."

But after Congress struck a last-minute budget deal Friday night to avert a government shutdown, Reid will have to eat his words.

The deal that funds the government through the end of September and cuts $38.5 billion from current spending levels also guarantees a debate and vote in the Senate on legislation that would repeal the president's signature on the domestic initiative that Republicans derisively call "Obamacare."

As the deadline for a government slowdown approaches, liberals are leading the charge to blame the budget impasse on the Tea Party movement.

This progressive political strategy serves a two-fold objective. First, by assigning responsibility for the failing budget negotiations on the Tea Party, liberals hope to avoid any culpability in the morass. Second, if there is a government slowdown, they want any public hardships blamed on anyone but themselves.

After years of trying to label the Tea Party movement as extremist, liberals now hope that shuttered museums, national park closures and concerns about grandma not getting her Social Security check next month, will turn public opinion against the social movement responsible for ending liberals’ virtual monopoly on political power in Washington.With the potential loss of the Senate and executive branch next year, liberals are looking for the political equivalent of kryptonite to weaken the relative superpower of the Tea Party movement.

Given the high stakes of a government slowdown and an opportunity to exploit the crisis for political gain, it was not shocking to hear about the liberal’s strategy to blame the Tea Party coming straight from the mouth of Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

BOSTON - Even as the House voted to repeal federal Internet access rules Friday, top Democratic policymakers called free and open communications a vital part of American democracy.

Speaking at Free Press’s National Conference for Media Reform, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she was pleased by Democratic opposition to the GOP-backed resolution, which cleared the House Friday afternoon. The resolution would nullify Federal Communications Commission net neutrality regulations that aim to prevent Internet service providers from blocking certain websites.

11 School Children were killed and at least another 18 injured in a western Rio de Janeiro school yesterday. According to various reports he came into the classroom shouting "I'm going to kill you all." He then lined many of the victims, mostly all girls, up against the wall, shooting them in their heads execution style.

A gunman roamed the halls of an elementary school in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday and killed 11 children, lining them up against a wall and shooting them in the head at point-blank range as he shouted, "I'm going to kill you all!"

Recently disgraced New York Senator Chuck Schumer was caught saying that he had been INSTRUCTED to keep using the word extreme in an attempt to lay blame for a government shutdown at the feet of the Tea Party. 

With the calls for civility after the Tucson shootings long forgotten, Schumer and the rest of the liberal drones are accusing the Tea Party of wanting to kill women (for not supporting taxpayer-funded abortions) and even comparing Tea Party members to fleas!  These malicious attacks would be headline news if made by Tea Party members but when a senior Democrat member of the Senate makes them, it goes mostly ignored by the media.

THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN THAT WASN’T

OK, who didn’t see this coming? 

I mean, really.  Who actually stayed up all night waiting to see if the federal government was going to be closed, thereby ushering in Armageddon?  Seriously, did anyone doubt that a last-minute deal would be struck?  Did anyone not know that all the doomsday predictions were just scare tactics used to position the combatants for partisan advantage?

Conservatives, of course, weren’t worried about a government shutdown; they were hoping for it.  Alas, the realist in all of us knew it wasn’t gonna happen. 

In the end, we didn’t get everything we wanted, but we got a hell of a lot more than we would have if not for Republicans regaining control of the House.  And now we go back for more.  And if we regain control of both the Senate and the White House in 2012, we’ll get even more.  This is how the game’s played.  And it never ends.
