President Barack Obama declared this week that four of five public schools could be labeled as "failing" this year under the No Child Left Behind Act if Congress does not take action to rewrite the law.
"That's an astonishing number," he said Monday at a Virginia middle school. "We know that four out of five schools in this country aren't failing."
Obama's terminology wasn't quite right, though. There is no "failing" label in the No Child Left Behind Act. And schools that do not meet growth targets — aimed at getting 100 percent of students proficient in math, reading and science by 2014 — for one year are not subject to any intervention.

Conyers: Obamacare Is ‘Platform’ for Creating Single-Payer System

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, told CNSNews.com today that the health-care law that President Barack Obama signed last March is a “platform” for building a single-payer health care system in the United States.

During a newsmakers program at the National Press Club on Monday, Conyers said that after discussing the issue with Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D.-Ohio) he voted for the health-care law because he saw it as a necessary "platform" for building toward a single-payer health-care system in the United States.

Justice Elena Kagan was a top lawyer for the Obama Administration during the debate over and passage of ObamaCare, and now the liberal media are helping this administration hide the fact that any work on this bill should preclude her from ruling on any Supreme Court case involving it.The 1966 Freedom of Information Act guarantees Americans that their government cannot hide their actions from the people in matters that do not concern national security. Under this law, the Media Research Center filed a request for records from meetings Elena Kagan attended where ObamaCare was discussed; almost a year later those records have not been released.

Cuts Could Hit Tsunami Warning System, Foes Say.” The Times article gives the last word, literally, to Dan Sobien, president of the National Weather Service Employees Organization, who warned, “In the next hurricane, flood, tornado or wildfire, lives will be lost and people will ask what went wrong. Congress’s cuts and the devastation to the well-being of our nation’s citizens are dangerously wrong.”

Michael Savage once wrote, “Liberalism is a mental disorder.” Not only are the passions that animate left-wing policies and reverse racism irrational; they are life-threatening. The most jarring example is Barack Obama race war against police and fire departments everywhere from the heartland to Ground Zero. Last month Obama’s Justice Department forced the city of Dayton, Ohio, to lower standards for hiring police and firemen, allegedly because not enough minorities passed. The Dayton Daily News reports that time is of the essence vital, since recent retirements “have left public safety forces near all-time lows.” Nonetheless, the Obama administration stepped in to keep police off the streets until he could saddle them with unqualified co-workers. Under the deal Dayton cut with Eric Holder’s department, city officials would hire people who scored as low as 58 percent on one section and 63 percent on another – failing marks on any conventional grade curve. The 748 people who passed the test will soon be joined by 258 new, incompetent public servants. No one will know one group from another except their HR department and the people whose lives they fail to save. Even the local NAACP – which, as its name implies, can usually be counted on to support any policy that advances the interests of “colored people” – thinks Obama and Holder have gone too far. Dayton chapter President Derrick Forward has said, “The NAACP does not support individuals failing a test and then having the opportunity to be gainfully employed…If you lower the score for any group of people, you’re not getting the best qualified people for the job.” (In reality, the NAACP regularly supports these kinds of actions, but at least Forward does not.) Most of us agree that the middle of a gunfight or an engulfed building is no place for on-the-job training. We’d prefer an expert. Not racial extortionists in the Obama White House. The administration’s legal assault on Dayton would be regrettable enough if it stood alone. However, it is but one front of Barack Obama’s race war against police and firemen....

The baby killers knew that by murdering Udi, Ruth, Hadas, Yoav and Elad they would enter the pantheon of Palestinian heroes. They can expect to have a sports stadium or school in Ramallah or Hebron built for them by the Palestinian Authority and underwritten by American or European taxpayers. And indeed, the murder of the Fogel children and their parents was greeted with jubilation in Gaza. Carnivals were held in the streets as Hamas members handed out sweets.

Tiny cuts won’t prevent looming federal insolvency

House Republicans are expected to vote Tuesday on yet another short-term budget extension that nibbles away at the massive deficit. Senate Democrats and the White House have blasted as “irresponsible” the idea of reducing the amount of money government will borrow this year from $1.48 trillion to $1.42 trillion. So House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, is taking a piecemeal approach that will end up reducing spending by the same amount.
The House voted Friday to eliminate the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s $1 billion “Emergency Homeowners Relief Program,” a useless boondoggle that costs taxpayers 98 cents on each dollar invested. On the previous day, the lower chamber sent the Senate a bill shutting down $8 billion in Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) spending. Tuesday’s vote would keep the government open until April 8 while making another $6 billion in noncontroversial cuts.

Is there a danger that gays in Western countries may soon be exterminated by hordes of dangerous homophobes?
Pretty ridiculous question, isn’t it?
No, gays enjoy special privileges here in the West. In San Francisco they are allowed to roam the streets naked during a pride fest on Folsom Street, performing actual sex acts in public in full view of hapless onlookers, including children, unfortunate enough to stumble onto the scene. (I am not going to link to photos of this perversion but, if you want confirmation, you can Google it with the key words: folsom street gay pride or the like).
